What is Circuito Chico?
Circuito Chico is a scenic route of approximately 60 km (37 miles) that loops around parts of Lake Nahuel Huapi and Lake Moreno, passing through some of Bariloche’s most iconic landmarks.
You can explore it by:
- Car
- Guided tour
- Bicycle
- Motorcycle
Most visitors complete it by car in half a day or a full day, stopping along the way to enjoy viewpoints and attractions.

Must-see stops along Circuito Chico
Cerro Campanario: the best view in Bariloche
Cerro Campanario is often considered one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the world.
You can reach the top by chairlift or by hiking. From the summit, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of:
- Nahuel Huapi and Moreno lakes
- Victoria Island
- Llao Llao Peninsula
- Llao Llao Peninsula
It’s one of the most photographed spots in Bariloche.
Llao Llao Hotel & Puerto Pañuelo
Another iconic stop is the area surrounding the famous Llao Llao Hotel, set between lakes and forests.
Nearby is Puerto Pañuelo, where boat excursions depart to:
- Victoria Island
- Arrayanes Forest
Even if you don’t take a boat tour, the scenery alone makes this stop worthwhile.
Colonia Suiza
If you’re doing the route during the day, Colonia Suiza is a charming stop.
This small historic village is known for its regional gastronomy.
On Sundays, you can visit the traditional Colonia Suiza Fair, where you can try local dishes such as the famous curanto.
Lake Moreno & scenic viewpoints
Throughout the route, you’ll find several natural viewpoints offering spectacular views of Lake Moreno and the surrounding mountains.
It’s worth stopping at multiple points to take photos and fully enjoy the landscape.
How long does Circuito Chico take?
The full route can be completed in about 3 to 4 hours.
However, it’s best to take half a day or a full day to enjoy it at a relaxed pace.
